Guernsey War Museums

A visit to the Guernsey Occupation Museum was enlightening, showing vast displays of war memorabilia from when Guernsey was occupied by German forces.
A stroll around the shops in town filled in time before we caught a bus to the German Underground Hospital. This is a series of huge tunnels that were dug by slave labour (prisoners of war)over a period of 3 and 1/2 years.
One section of the tunnels was hospital wards, while the other was munitions storage. It was quite incredible to know that the tunnels had been dug by hand. They were huge, and were like an intricate underground maze.
