Guernsey - Arrival

Our flight to Guernsey was uneventful, in spite of the fact that the plane had propellers!
We arrived at 6.30pm, collected our bags and headed for the taxi rank.
Well.....
It seems there is no such thing as a taxi company in Guernsey, just a host of individuals in their own vehicles with a taxi light on the roof.

We waited for a l-o-n-g time, but any taxi that came told us he was booked and couldn't take us to town!

Eventually, we opted to catch the bus in to town, which dropped us at the Town Terminus which was a 20 minute walk from our hotel.

Different bus drivers advised us of the bus number to catch, but we waited a further 45 minutes for the right bus to arrive.
The good news is, we were dropped to the door of the hotel and finally checked in, over 2 hours later.

Moral of the story?
If you're looking for a niche in the market, or a new business venture, come to Guernsey and start up an airport shuttle business! You can't lose!
